Muscles for Charity USA

MAY 2009

The largest ever team assembled for a Muscles project completed the task of re-decking premises owned and operated by Helping Hands for the Disabled. Go here for the pictures and more information.

OCTOBER 2008.

A staggering $2,250.00 was raised at the Helping Hands annual auction held at the Embassy Suites in Bellevue on behalf of Helping Hands for the Disabled. This is a record amount donated at any auction, anywhere, for Muscles to undertake a project, and it will be used to assist Helping Hands to replace the decking on one of the four houses that they own and operate on behalf of disabled individuals.

JUNE 2008 - 92 voluntary hours!

Relocating two very large grape vines, removing the existing trellis and old decking - and reinstalling four 4 x 4 x 8' posts, together with a new trellis and then replacing the grapevines and installing the new decking tested the skills and commitment of the Muscles USA team.

This message was sent on behalf of the recipients::

"Melody, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for what you and all the volunteers did for my parents yesterday.

My parents are people like all of you. When someone needs help they are the first to give of themselves. So have all of you come and give up your Sunday, work so very hard and accomplish all that you did, just amazed them and really filled them with joy.

I too, am amazed and extremely thankful for all that you did. It has been a tough for my dad with his advancing Parkinson's, he just can't do all that he use to. In earlier days he would have been the one swinging the hammer.

It feels great to know that I was able to help Helping Hands, an agency I am deeply committed to and help two people that I love dearly. But I could not have done it without every one of your volunteers. So please send mine and my parents thanks to everyone of the volunteers. You all do great things!

Best Regards, Jen Newman"
