1978 Boat-building course in Oulton Broad, Lowestoft
1980 - 86 Self -employed signmaker, then custom made furniture including kitchens.
1986- 87 Spent one year working and travelling around Australia
1988- 90 Two year part-time course at London College of Furniture, having moved back to family and present home, a former pub on the Essex marshes, where I continue to live with my wife and three children.
1992 - present With partner Simon Redfearn established Henderson & Redfearn, a successful company making bespoke furniture and employing 14 people incl. 3 Apprentices.
1992 Met Guy Taplin and renewed interest in carving birds, particularly shorebirds and wildfowl.

My work is displayed in private homes and hotels and commercial businesses throughout Britain and abroad.

I have had articles and photographs of work in many journals and periodicals, including BBC Homes and Antiques, Country Living, East Anglan Daily Times as well as a documentary for Japanese Television.

My time is now spent between my business and my carving work.
