Enthusiasm
and energy in
Belgium for Muscles for Charity is centred on the medieval town
of Lier, situated east of Antwerp.
Starting
in 2004 by selling ice cream on a warm summer afternoon in the
middle of the City, the local team joined forces with Muscles
volunteers from Canada and the UK to produce 64 specialist breakfasts
in 2005.
Significant
financial donations were subsequently provided to charities assisting
Tsunami victims in the Andaman and Nicobar islands.

Three
days of painting in thirty degree temperatures tested
the endurance, skills and stamina of the international
team that descended on Lier for a magical weekend of fun,
friendship and a degree of mischief.
OXFAM and the Gurkha charities were the recipients, and
it may have been hot but the painted rooms were immediately
above an ice cream parlour!
